Dog reunited with owner days after 'misstep in the cargo loading process,' airline says
Moose, the dog who was scheduled to travel to Seattle on an outbound Alaska Airlines flight from Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Tuesday, was reunited with his owner after "a load in the process of loading."
According to the airline, the mouse failed to board the Saturday flight and escaped three times when someone planned to load it on Wednesday.
"The dog was scheduled to fly with its owner on a flight Tuesday night, but due to an error in the loading process, it may not make the trip," Alaska Airlines said. He spent the night with our team at the airport."
"While we were waiting to load the dog on Wednesday's flight to Seattle, he was taken out for a walk," Alaska Airlines continued. "When he was put in the cage, the dog pulled back, broke off the collar and ran away."
The airline searched for the mouse and, they said, brought its owner back to Raleigh-Durham to help with the search.
According to Raleigh-Durham International Airport, Moose was found Thursday morning, eating breakfast before leaving the airport.
"He is safe and sound and had a good breakfast thanks to one of our K9 officers," the airport district said.
Alaska Airlines apologized for the incident and said it was happy the dog and owner were reunited.
Alaska Airlines said: "We are happy that the dog has been returned to its owner. We sincerely apologize to the owner for this stressful situation."
