Ontario G driving test changes done without safety evaluations, auditor finds
The decision to remove some elements of Ontario's Class G driving test was made without a safety assessment or formal approval from cabinet, says the province's auditor general.
Interim Auditor General Nick Stavropoulos noted in his 2023 annual general report that a change to the test, which removed "duplicate" elements such as emergency stops, three-point turns and parallel parking, was "without the support of sound policy analysis."
