The death of the oldest dog in the world at the age of 31
In February, a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo from a village in Portugal was recognized in the Guinness World Records as the oldest living dog and the oldest dog ever.
The owner of this dog announced on Tuesday that Bobby passed away at their home in the village of Conqueiros on Sunday. Bobby's veterinarian mentioned that Bobby's owner, Lionel Costa, succeeded in extending his dog's life to 31 years through good nutrition, continuous exposure to nature, exploration of the environment, careful veterinary care, and love. Although Bobby was known as a friendly and peaceful dog, he didn't start his life that way. He was born as a hunting dog, and as a puppy, he narrowly escaped a tragic fate. When Bobby was born in 1992, Lionel's father, overwhelmed by the number of pets, decided to put him down. However, Bobby managed to save himself by hiding among a pile of firewood.
