Canada won gold in the women's freestyle relay at the Pan Am Games
Mary-Sophie Harvey, Brooklyn Douthwaite, Maggie Mac Neil, and Katherine Savard from Canada claimed the gold medal in the women's 4x100m freestyle relay on Saturday in Santiago, Chile. Mac Neil moved Canada from third to first, and the quartet managed to secure the gold with a time of 3 minutes and 37.75 seconds, beating the United States by 0.67 seconds.
In the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Canada won the silver medal with a different team that also included Mac Neil. In the men's 4x100m freestyle relay, the Canadian team secured a bronze medal. The team comprised of Javier Acevedo, Edward Foulks-Hot, Stefan Kaelin, and Finlay Knox and finished with a time of 3:15.83. Brazil claimed gold in the men's relay with a time of 3:13.51, while the United States took another silver with a time of 3:14.22.
