Third suspect arrested in connection with four murders in Carry the Kettle Nakoda community
Saskatchewan RCMP have charged a third person in connection with a quadruple homicide that occurred in February in the Carry the Kettle Nakoda community.
On December 10, the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit and Indian Head Station served a search warrant at a home in the community and arrested a 17-year-old boy. His identity is not being released due to the protections of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The suspect faces four counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Tracy Hotomani, Sheldon Kouzans, Shauna Fee and Terry Jack, as well as one count of attempted murder in connection with a fight with a fifth person at the same home.
The 17-year-old boy is the third person charged in the killings. Darius Reese, 18, and a 15-year-old also face four counts of first-degree murder.
At approximately 11:15 a.m. on February 4, 2025, File Hills First Nation police responded to a report of a sudden death at a home in the community and found the bodies of four people. Saskatchewan RCMP responded immediately and the Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation.
Reese was arrested in Yorkton on February 18, and the 15-year-old was arrested the same day in the Carry the Kettle Nakoda community.
The Carry the Kettle Nakoda community is located 70 kilometers east of Regina.
