Maple Creek Toy Store, Nominated for Canada's Best Store
One of Canada’s best toy stores is located in the small town of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan: Cowtown Kids Toy & Candy, with more than 35,000 toys, collectibles and candy. The store, which has been in business since 2015, adds about 70 new items to its collection every day.
Owner and manager Bob Simmons and his wife, Kara, have built it into the largest independent toy store in Saskatchewan. The store features thousands of puzzles (including a 60,000-piece puzzle, one of the largest in the world), a playroom and a farm toy room.
Today, the family has expanded their business to four buildings: a toy store, a candy and ice cream shop, a bookstore and an Old Town Plush store. Despite the more than 100-year-old history of the original building, its atmosphere is still full of color, excitement, and nostalgia for children and even parents and grandparents.
