Four people were taken to hospital after a stabbing and stabbing in downtown Toronto
Four individuals have been transported to different hospitals in Toronto following a stabbing and assault incident in the city's central district.
The incident occurred in the area of Adelaide and Simcoe streets. Toronto police were called to the scene at 3:09 a.m.
According to Toronto paramedics, two adult patients were taken to the hospital from the scene: one with severe injuries to a trauma center, and another with minor injuries to a different local hospital.
Police mentioned that two other victims made their way to the hospital on their own. One of the stabbing victims, who had serious injuries but is now in stable condition, arrived at the hospital via an Uber.
An assault victim with minor injuries also independently sought medical attention at a hospital, and it is unknown whether the victims were acquainted with each other.
In an update, police stated that three of the victims are men in their 20s, while the fourth victim is a man in his 30s.
No suspect information is available at this time, and investigators are still working to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
The investigation is considered "active and ongoing," according to the police.
