Three shootings in less than 24 hours in Scarborough
Toronto police are investigating a possible connection between three shootings less than 24 hours apart in Scarborough. In the latest incident, at around 5:00 pm on Sunday, one person was injured after shots were fired from a vehicle at a tow truck. Several bullet holes can be seen on the tow truck, including the driver's side window.
According to paramedics, one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. It is not known whether the victim was inside the truck or not. Meanwhile, two other incidents of shooting for towing trucks took place on Saturday night.
One person shot at a tow truck in the Markham area around 8 p.m. Saturday, while another truck was shot two hours later at East Finch Street and Markham Road, investigators said.
No one was injured in any of these incidents and the suspects fled.
Police said it is too early to link all three shootings, but tow trucks were targeted in all three incidents, and we are investigating.
