The high speed of the Mercedes caused a series of accidents in Gardiner
Police are searching for two people who fled after a series of crashes on Gardiner Highway Thursday night. According to investigators, a Mercedes-Benz with Quebec license plates was traveling at high speed on the highway when it crashed into four cars in the eastbound lanes near Fort York Boulevard. At first, the police thought that this accident was the result of a race between two cars, after reviewing the video and talking to witnesses, they realized that the high speed of the Mercedes was the cause of the chain accident. As a result of this accident, the Mercedes Benz overturned. and caught fire. Two of its occupants fled the place on foot, and the police are searching for these two people. Four people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.
The eastbound lane of the Gardiner Freeway was closed for about three hours due to the crash, but reopened around 10:30 p.m.
