The frustration of Tim Hortons customers due to broken and defective glasses
Twenty Tim Hortons customers across Ontario have posted photos and stories of broken cups that either crumple or tear shortly after pouring coffee into them. For some, the bottom of the glass was coming apart. Kathryn Nasiopoulos, a loyal Tim Hortons customer who drinks one or two large coffees a day, said her glasses have broken more than 15 times in the past two months, causing her Bring a mug with you.
In February, Nasiopoulos filed a complaint with Tim Hortons headquarters but received no response. "It was really interesting because when I complained to the store where I bought the coffee, they told me they had never heard of any problems with it," he said. Several other customers filed similar complaints. A couple had bought coffee from Tim Hortons when the leak in the husband's cup opened and the coffee spilled on his feet, causing burns.
They also called the Tim Hortons customer service line and complained but never got a response.
Michael Oliveira, director of communications for Tim Hortons, told CTV that "out of the millions of hot drinks served in recent days, we've received 'very few reports of these cases.' But anyway, we apologize to the customers who were given broken glasses."
