Rescue of a family from Ontario whose car had fallen into the St. Lawrence River

An RCMP officer has been commended for rescuing an Ontario family whose vehicle plunged into the cold St. Lawrence River. According to a spokesperson for the Ontario Provincial Police, the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. The march took place in the township of Glengarry South, east of Ottawa. The driver, a mother with three children aged 20, 11 and 5, lost control of the car, causing the car to plunge into the St. Lawrence River.

The family's car was partially submerged and all four people were trapped inside and could not open the doors, but finally they managed to open one of the windows, but none of them could swim. Eventually, the family's 20-year-old daughter was able to call 911. A local RCMP officer who was in the area immediately rushed to their aid. He helped all four people get out of the car and go to the beach.
