Almost all Canadians believe that food costs will not decrease in the next 6 months
According to a new survey, almost 95% of Canadians believe food prices are too high and 97% believe food costs will not decrease in the next six months.
A majority of Canadians (74 percent) believe grocery prices will be higher by Thanksgiving than they are today, the Maru poll found.
Almost 40% of respondents believe that rising food costs are mainly due to higher prices and excessive profiteering by food chain companies. However, 22% of Canadians blame government policies.
About 18% of Canadians say rising food supply chain costs are the cause of higher food prices.
The poll comes as many are planning to boycott the Lab La store chain.
