Man, 57, dies after small plane crash in western Quebec

A man has died after a small plane crashed in western Quebec early Thursday morning.
Quebec Provincial Police said officers received an automated emergency cellphone alert around 1:30 a.m. reporting a person in distress.
The crash site is located in a rural area in the Denholm area, near Lewes, Que. and about 60 kilometers north of Ottawa.
The Sûreté du Québec and Canadian forces were dispatched to the scene via helicopter and found an unconscious man on board.
Police confirmed that the 57-year-old man was the only passenger on the plane and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) says the incident involved a Cessna 172.
It was a four-seater, single-engine, fixed-wing piston aircraft.
The TSB says the cause of the crash is unknown.
