Kiss bid farewell to live tour, first American band to go virtual

On Friday night, Kiss will end their last farewell tour called "The End of the Road" at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York. But will this really be the end?

In their final performance, the current band members – founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, along with guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer – will take the stage in an encore to reveal digital avatars of the device. After this development, Virtual Kiss performs the song "God Gave Rock and Roll to You". After 50 years, the group is now seeking a kind of digital immortality.

The avatars were created by George Lucas' special effects company Industrial Light & Magic in collaboration with Pophouse Entertainment Group. The last one was due to Bjorn Elwes, a member of ABBA. The two companies recently collaborated on an "ABBA Voyage" show in London, where fans can watch a full concert of the Swedish band - to perform as their digital avatars.

Per Sundin, CEO of Pophouse Entertainment, stated that this new technology will allow them to carry on their legacy to "Azlite", even after their last live performance. He says the group won't be virtual during the performance because "that's the main thing" is the search technology of the future. "Kiss can play a concert a day in three different cities on three different continents. That's what I can do with this technology."

To create his digital avatars, depicted as superhero versions of the group, Case performs in motion-capture costumes.

Experimentation with this type of technology has become more common in certain sectors of the music industry. In October, K-pop star Mark Tuan teamed up with Soul Machines to create a "digital twin" called Mark Digital. This action allowed him to become the first celebrity to dedicate his image to the integration of OpenAI with artificial intelligence technology.
