York police officer accused of sexual harassment
A York Region police officer has been charged with sexual harassment following an investigation. The investigation began in March 2024 when York Police detectives were made aware of the allegations against the officer.
Officer Andrew Burford has been suspended with pay since March 4. He is now charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of forcible confinement.
Burford has been with York Police since 2004. To protect the alleged victims, further information will not be released.
