A female hockey coach has been accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl player

A 28-year-old hockey coach has been charged with over 15 offenses, including sexual assault, in relation to a former player he had previously coached, according to the Winnipeg Police.

Investigators received information last month about a "sexually exploitative relationship" between Madison Biluk and a youth player during the 2019-2021 period.

Constable Danny MacKinnon said, "There are various reasons why survivors come forward with such allegations. I can't speak to the reasons this young lady came forward, but it is terrifying."

Biluk had been working with Hockey Manitoba from 2018 to 2023 and is accused of "grooming and gaining the trust of a survivor" who was a minor. These allegations occurred during Biluk's active coaching years in his twenties.

MacKinnon stated that the abuse spanned over two years, starting when the girl was under 16 years old and continued even after Biluk was no longer a youth coach.

MacKinnon said the survivor came forward after an initial report from another person "within the hockey organization." "I hope personally that the survivor moves towards a healthier and more peaceful place," MacKinnon said. "She is an incredible person. This is a very courageous step."
