A man was stabbed after a fight in a Montreal cafe
A 31-year-old man is in hospital after being stabbed at a cafe in Montreal.
Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 3:40 a.m. Friday about the incident near rue Jean Talon and rue 17e in the Saint-Michel neighbourhood.
Montreal police spokeswoman Sabrina Gauthier explains: "The fight started inside with about five people, then one of them pulled out a sharp object and injured the victim.
He was taken to the hospital, but his injuries are not serious.
Gauthier added: When the police arrived at the scene, the suspects had fled.
A security perimeter is in place and investigators are speaking with witnesses and watching surveillance footage to determine what happened.
Police say they plan to talk to the victim if allowed.
