Waiting for Trudeau to appoint a new labor minister
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to name a successor following the resignation of current Labor Minister Seamus O'Regan. O'Regan announced on Thursday that he is stepping down from the Liberal cabinet for family reasons, although he plans to serve until the next federal election as The parliamentarian should continue his work. Trudeau's office has not yet announced whether a new member will join the cabinet. Not much cabinet reshuffle is expected, according to a source familiar with the matter. Oregon was appointed labor minister in 2021 and became Canada's seniors minister last summer.
