This year, more than 10,000 cases of drunk or drugged driving were recorded in Ontario
The Ontario Provincial Police saw nearly 400 people killed in motor vehicle accidents this year, which is the highest number since 2004.
Referring to the details of drunk driving and drug use statistics in this province, the Ontario police said that the police recorded more than 10,000 cases of dangerous driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and saw a 16 percent increase in traffic accidents this year compared to 2022. In 2023, 49 people died in accidents caused by alcohol or drugs and nearly 400 people died in motor vehicle accidents in Ontario.
Ontario Provincial Police officials are advising people to drive better, slow down, keep their headlights on so everyone can make it through the New Year without another death.
