Iconic Toronto restaurant The Rosedale Diner is closing after 45 years
After 45 years of serving people in downtown Toronto, the owners of The Rosedale Diner have announced that it is time to close.
The Rosedale restaurant, located on Young Street near Summerhill Station, will close after December 31.
Estee Fillar opened The Rosedale Diner with her husband Dobby Fillar in 1978.
The couple, now in their 70s, have many memories at the restaurant, including raising their children in the restaurant and appearing on Guy Fairey's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.
Through the ups and downs and even the Covid-1 pandemic, we never imagined we would be in business until 2023, the couple said.
In these days, some people visited this restaurant, which always served good food, to eat their last meal in this place and wish the couple a good retirement.
