The increase in the cost of Spotify subscription in Canada
According to Kiusk News, Spotify's subscription increase was implemented on Monday, July 24. These changes apply to subscribers in a number of countries, including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
"As we continue to grow our platform, we're updating our Premium pricing so we can continue to innovate in changing market conditions," said a statement on the company's website. Spotify has increased the price of all its Premium apps by $1.
Existing users have been notified by email before the price increase. Individual plans now cost $10.99 per month. The monthly rate for the duo plan for two accounts is now $14.99, the family plan for six accounts is $16.99, and the student plan is $5.99.
"We also offer a free, ad-supported service that lets you stay connected to your favorite music, podcasts, and access all your saved songs, playlists, and podcasts," the statement said.
