Canada Workers Allowance; Families receive up to $2,500

If you are eligible to receive Canada Workers' Compensation benefits, you may have received your first payment on Friday. On Monday, Justin Trudeau confirmed that he recently increased benefits for Canadian workers and that these benefits will be paid on Friday. These payments are the first of three installments that have been paid early.

  • From July 2023, eligible single workers can receive up to $1,428 and families can receive up to $2,461 depending on their income.
  • Eligible Canadian workers can also receive $737 in disability benefits.

What are the benefits of Canadian workers?
The Canada Workers' Benefit CWB is a refundable tax credit designed to benefit low-income Canadians. These benefits have two parts:
A basic amount and some disability allowance and some people may be eligible for both.

Starting July 2023, Canada Workers' Compensation will automatically make early payments to eligible individuals. Previously, the Canada Revenue Agency determined the eligibility of people based on their tax returns, but now people who were eligible in 2022 do not have to wait until they file their taxes in 2023, but the revenue agency will pay half of the allowance early.
Anyone receiving a CWB in 2022 will automatically receive an early grant and no application is required.
