Severe flooding at a high school in Toronto
A member of provincial parliament (MPP) said he was surprised to see severe flooding at a high school in Toronto this week and is calling on the province's education minister to do something about it. Heavy rain in Toronto on Monday affected Humberside College in High Park North, flooding the basement, auditorium and stairwells.
Although the TDSB spends millions of dollars on roof replacements and repairs, we currently have more than $4 billion in general maintenance costs, said one member of the Toronto District School Board.
The annual operating budget of this council is 3.4 billion dollars, which the school council has repeatedly considered insufficient and stated that this budget does not meet the needs of Toronto students.
