Residents of southwestern Ontario were shocked to see a kangaroo
Residents of southwestern Ontario were shocked to see a kangaroo standing on Chatham-Kent Road. According to police, the animal escaped from its cage and went on a short adventure on Tuesday.
A video of a kangaroo in Douglas Lane has been released, in which citizens have been asked not to approach the animal if they see it.
A Chatham-Kent police spokesman later joked that if people saw a kangaroo around Reader Lane in Howard Township, they weren't hallucinating, it was real.
"Fortunately, staff quickly located the little kangaroo and returned it safely to Greenview Aviaries," a police spokesperson wrote in a news release. It follows another incident in late November where a kangaroo escaped from its keeper in Eshawa. The animal was on its way to Quebec when the driver stopped at the Oshawa Zoo on November 30. It was here that the kangaroo managed to escape. But a few days later on December 4, it was found safe and sound.
