More than half of Canadians get together for Thanksgiving

It seems that Canadians intend to return to their daily lives and gather together for Thanksgiving during the long weekend. A new survey conducted by Maru Public Opinion from September 19 to September 29 surveyed over 1500 Canadians. The responses show that 54% of participants in this survey are either hosting or attending Thanksgiving dinner this weekend and coming together. Residents of Ontario showed the highest willingness to participate in Thanksgiving celebrations at 63%.
Furthermore, during this long weekend, young Canadians (64%) are more inclined to have turkey and gather together than older individuals (age 35 and above, at 51%).
In Quebec, Thanksgiving is called "Action de Grâce," but most people in Quebec do not celebrate this occasion. During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, due to the virus spreading more in the fall months, many Canadians refrained from attending Thanksgiving gatherings.
