Heavy rain is expected in the Montreal area today and tomorrow
Weather warnings were in effect this morning for large parts of Quebec, including the Montreal area.
Montreal, Laval and the south coast can expect between 10 and 20 millimeters of rain and about five centimeters of snow today through tomorrow.
According to Environment Canada's Special Weather Statement, precipitation is currently falling as rain and will change to snow by early Monday morning.
The statement warned Monday morning commuters to take care as the combination of temperatures gradually dropping below freezing and changing precipitation patterns created challenging driving conditions in morning traffic.
