Free programs to help newcomers to Canada

Every year, the Metropolitan University of Toronto offers the online ADaPT (Advanced Digital and Professional Learning) program for free to incoming freshmen who meet the following requirements:

1. They have immigrated to Canada within the last five years.
2. Eligible to work in Canada and capable of full-time employment or summer work.
3. Be between 15 and 29 years old.

Canada Connects Program This program introduces Canadian citizens and resident immigrants to newcomers so they can quickly connect with Canadians and integrate into society. This strong connection leads to more job opportunities and faster job placement.

The "Federal Internship for Newcomers Program" offers newcomers the opportunity to gain temporary work experience and valuable training opportunities in federal, provincial and municipal organizations in Canadian cities.

The Employment Skills Training (EST) program offers disabled immigrants and refugees free employment classes that teach important skills, including job search skills, resume writing, letter writing, and LinkedIn profile writing.

The Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program is a federally funded English language program offered across Canada at various community centers. Eligible adults first register for a free English language test at an authorized language assessment center. This test will determine the appropriate LINC class type to meet your needs.
