A new system for enrolling in Quebec's kindergartens
Next year, the Quebec Ministry of Family will launch a new system for parents to have comprehensive access to information about kindergartens and the status of their children's registration in them. This system will act as a replacement for the previous portal called "La Place 0-5".
All kindergartens in the province of Quebec, including special centers such as nurseries (CPE), subsidized kindergartens (GS), non-subsidized kindergartens (GNS), and people responsible for child care in the family environment (RSGE) are required to be members of this comprehensive system. .
Through this system, parents will have access to information about all kindergartens. This information includes the number of vacancies in each kindergarten, the number of children on the waiting list, as well as special facilities for children with disabilities that parents can access through the system.
The Ministry of Family has announced that after the launch of this system, parents will no longer have restrictions on choosing a kindergarten for their children and can choose several kindergartens for their children.
It should be noted that in March 2021, the data of thousands of parents registered in the previous system called "Place 0-5" was stolen by hackers.
