A man died after a partial collapse of a building in Montreal
According to the Montreal Fire Department (SIM), all occupants are believed to have been evacuated. Firefighters located a 30-year-old man at 10:15 p.m. Paramedics confirmed his death at the scene. Montreal-Nord Mayor Christine Black initially announced that the apartments were empty at the time of the collapse. The building, located at the corner of Boulevard Roland and Rue Pascal, contains 10 apartments. And several business units.
As of Sunday, a 30-year-old man was in critical condition and a 50-year-old man suffered minor injuries. They rescued two people from the rubble of the building. Both men - conscious but injured - were taken to the hospital, according to Martin Guilbolt. Marie-Eve Bousleil said the victim and the injured appeared to be doing construction work when the floor collapsed.
