Possible ‘significant’ snowfall to hit Nova Scotia this week, statement issued

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement regarding early-season snowfall this week.

Up to five centimeters of snow is forecast for parts of eastern and northern Nova Scotia on Monday, and up to 10 centimeters over the Cape Breton highlands, the agency said.
Snow may mix with ice pellets in some areas and turn to rain later today. The statement said that the rainfall will reduce during the night.
However, on Wednesday, the "second most widespread snowfall of the early season" is forecast for much of the province during the day and into the evening.
"Accumulation may be significant enough to create hazardous travel conditions," it said. Surfaces such as highways, roads, thoroughfares, and parking lots may become difficult to navigate. Drivers should be prepared for winter driving conditions.
