Covered Bridge Potato Chips factory in Hartland burns down

The Covered Bridge potato chip factory in Hartland, New Brunswick, Canada caught fire on March 3, 2024. The fire started around 11 am local time and quickly spread to the entire building.

More than 50 firefighters from several fire stations were dispatched to the site to control the fire. The fire extinguishing operation lasted until the evening.

No one was injured in the fire, but the building was completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but an investigation is underway.

This factory was one of the largest potato chip factories in Canada and employed about 200 people.

The fire will be a major blow to the local Heartland economy.
