A child was seriously injured in a dog attack at a Toronto park playground

A 9-year-old boy was seriously injured Saturday morning after being bitten and dragged to the ground by a dog at a Toronto park playground, Toronto police said. The incident happened around 10:15 a.m. in Little Norwich Park, near Lake Shore Boulevard West and Bathurst Street.

According to the police, a woman with her dog without a collar was inside a playground when the father and his child arrived. The dog moved towards the child through an open gate, bit him and dragged him to the ground.

The woman and the father tried to free the child from the dog and finally the dog did it. Then this woman ran away from the playground with her dog. The child was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police released a photo of her and her dog to identify the woman. He is described as 30 to 40 years old, between 175 cm and 180 cm tall, with a large build and dark hair in a ponytail.

His dog is also black, tan and white and was last seen wearing a black hoodie and a chain collar.
