According to a new report, the death rate from lung cancer in Canada has decreased significantly over the past few years.
According to this report, lung cancer deaths have decreased by four percent annually since 2015.
"These rates reflect the progress people are making in quitting smoking, because tobacco is responsible for 70 percent of lung cancer cases," said Jennifer Gillis, an epidemiologist at the Canadian Cancer Society.
According to Gillis, one of the vital interventions is the early diagnosis and treatment of this type of cancer. Despite advances, lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related death in Canada.
