A video has emerged showing a masked man entering a building in Old Montreal before a deadly fire that claimed the lives of a mother and her daughter, Novo Info reported.

The two victims were French nationals and police have not yet officially released their identities as the investigation into the fire, which has been called suspicious, continues.

This fire started early Friday morning on the ground floor of a three-story building and led to the evacuation of about 40 residents.
