Tornado touched down Sunday in Fergus, Ont., experts confirm
The Northern Tornado Project (NTP), based at Western University in London, Ontario, confirmed a tornado in Fergus on Monday after visiting the small area. The assessment team rated the tornado as an EF0, the lowest level on the Fujita Enhanced scale, with winds between 90 and 130 kilometers per hour.
While the storm was felt across Wellington, Guelph and Waterloo counties, most of the damage was reported near Fergus. Relief experts pointed out that most of the damage was caused by trees that fell on houses.
