Three-wheeler pilot project begins in Nova Scotia
Next week, a pilot project to test and evaluate the performance of federally approved three-wheelers will begin on Nova Scotia roads. They give permission to use them, it aligns.
Nova Scotia officials say road safety for all people is our priority and we want to make sure these federally regulated vehicles are fit for use on our roads. This project gives us the necessary time to test, evaluate and investigate the long-term potential of three-wheelers on our roads. Tricycles are a unique class of vehicles that have a hybrid design with three wheels, seats, foot pedals, and a steering wheel.
Although three-wheeled vehicles are currently legal in Nova Scotia, they cannot be registered and must be registered in other provinces.
According to this province, some of the requirements for driving a three-wheeled car are:
Drivers must have a class 5 license
Drivers and passengers must wear motorcycle helmets and passengers must be at least 9 years old.
Drivers must follow the regulations of the three-wheeler pilot project
Nova Scotia's five-year pilot project begins May 15 across the province and will run until spring 2029.
