The Ford administration plans to allow beer stores to sell lottery tickets
The Ford administration plans to allow beer stores to sell more beer-related products, including OLG lottery tickets. It didn't work. Currently, beer stores are only allowed to sell peripherals like ice packs, beer mugs, and t-shirts, but now we're allowing them to sell other products, including lottery tickets and food. Continued sale of cigarettes, marijuana and alcoholic beverages will be prohibited.
Starting this fall, licensed retailers from convenience stores and gas stations will be able to sell beer, wine and cocktails alongside other products they already sell, such as snacks and lottery tickets. Some believe that this regulatory change will allow beer stores to better compete in the open market.
