The Canada Child Benefit will be paid this Thursday. How much will you get?
Canadian parents will receive their last monthly child benefit payment from the federal government this week.

Payment details for March 2025
Monthly tax-free Canada Child Benefit (CCB) payments will be made to eligible families with children under the age of 18 on Thursday (March 20).
How to calculate your payment:

This amount is calculated based on the family’s adjusted net income from the previous year’s tax return, the number of children and their ages. In July 2024, the CCB rate increased by 4.7% for inflation and will be updated again in July 2025. Maximum amount received in March 2025:

$648.91 per month for each child under 6 years old.

$547.50 per month for each child aged 6 to 17.

Eligibility for the maximum amount:

Families with a net income of less than $36,502 will receive the maximum assistance.

For incomes above this amount, the payment will gradually decrease.

Families with total annual benefits of less than $240 received a lump sum in July and will not receive a payment this month.

Impact of inflation on payments:

Canada’s annual inflation rate increased to 2.6% in February 2025 (up from 1.9% in January).

The end of the GST/HST exemption on children’s goods (such as clothing and toys) on February 15 led to an increase in prices, although the exemption temporarily reduced prices compared to last year.

Next payment:
The April payment will be made on April 17, 2025.
