Suspect in custody after teen stabbed at west-end Toronto high school
Toronto police say a teenage boy is in hospital after a stabbing at a west side high school this morning.
Police said they received a report of a fight at Humberside College near Quebec and Humberside streets at around 11:45 a.m.
A teenage boy was stabbed at the school and taken to hospital with injuries, police said.
Detectives initially said the suspect fled the scene. In an update this afternoon, police confirmed that a 16-year-old boy had been arrested in connection with the altercation.
"Any witnesses or students who have video of the altercation should speak with officers on the school premises," Toronto police said in a social media post.
The school was placed under quarantine immediately after the incident, but this order has now been lifted.
