Popular children's toy being pulled from the toy section by two major retailers

Walmart and Amazon have said they will no longer sell Blue Beans to children after safety concerns and serious injuries.
Water beads are small colorful balls that are super absorbent, but they are also dangerous for children who swallow them.
  While they seem harmless enough, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in the US said water beads have caused 4,500 emergency room visits in the past four years.
The tiny seeds can grow in a child's body and not show up on an X-ray machine, which is why calls for their ban are growing.
They turn into slippery, slimy balls when soaked in water, but if swallowed, these tiny toys can cause vomiting, intestinal obstruction, and life-threatening injuries.
  Now, after extensive testing by Consumer Reports and the CPSC, another danger has emerged — toxic chemicals.

"Tests revealed chemicals like acrylamide, a possible carcinogen that's also toxic to the brain, and BPA, which has been linked to some cancers and fertility problems," said Lauren Kirchner of Consumer Reports.

Many packages of water beads are labeled "non-toxic," but Consumer Reports says that can be misleading.
