One man was killed and an RCMP officer was injured after officers and several men were shot in Saskatchewan.

One man was killed and an RCMP officer was injured after officers and several men were shot in the Red Earth Cree region of northeastern Saskatchewan.
Police say the officer's injuries are not life-threatening.
According to RCMP, the incident began around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday, when RCMP were dispatched to the scene for a reported shooting.
     The officers were dispatched and arrested two people. No charges have been filed at this time as part of the investigation is ongoing.
A third person, a 25-year-old man believed to have been involved in the initial incident, was found nearby.

RCMP say when officers arrived at the scene, the officers got out of their vehicles, which led to a fight.
   "During the altercation, firearms were discharged," the RCMP said in a statement. As a result, both adult men and one of the officers were injured."
The 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) has been called in to investigate the circumstances of the man's death and his interactions with the Saskatchewan RCMP.
