Oakville medic arrested on sexual assault charges
A doctor who works at a clinic in Oakville is accused of sexually assaulting a female patient.
Dr. Clarence Clottey, 64, of Oakville, was working at Bristol Family Physicians on Bristol Circle at the time of the crime, the Halton County Police Service said.
A woman called the police after she was sexually assaulted during a clinic visit. On Tuesday, police officers arrested Klotti and charged him with one count of sexual assault.
His photo was released as investigators believe there may be other victims.
According to City News, in January 2020, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) imposed restrictions on the then 59-year-old doctor following allegations of misconduct and sexual harassment.
Klutty was first arrested in 2016 and charged with six counts of sexual assault. Six patients testified against him, alleging that Clotti improperly touched women during examinations.
In 2018, Clotti was acquitted of all charges. A year later, the doctor was again arrested for sexually abusing a female patient in 2014.
The College of Physicians placed a restriction on Clotti, requiring him not to examine the breast, pelvis, or rectal area of any female patient. It also suspended Klutti for one year, which took effect in 2017.
