Nearly 40 vehicles stolen in Ottawa in one week
Ottawa police say nearly 40 vehicles were stolen in the last week of November and are reminding drivers to be vigilant.
In a social media post , OPS says thieves are looking for vehicles at shopping malls and sporting events at all hours of the day and night.
"When parking your vehicle at shopping centers or sporting events this holiday season, always lock your doors and activate any security features," OPS said.
Vehicle theft has been a perennial problem for OPS, who say their work continues to disrupt thieves.
OPS says more than 1,200 vehicle thefts have been reported to police this year in several different neighborhoods across Ottawa. In November, 85 car thefts were reported.
