Man seriously injured, suspects at large after stabbing near Victoria
Mountains in Colwood, B.C., are making a public appeal for witnesses after a 27-year-old man was injured in a stabbing attack early Sunday morning.
The West Coast RCMP detachment says officers responded to the shopping plaza parking lot at 1880 Island Highway around 2:15 a.m.
Police found the victim suffering from a single stab wound. Paramedics treated the man and took him to the hospital with serious injuries.
Montes says two bystanders rushed to his aid. One called the police and gave officers a statement, while the other left the scene soon after officers arrived.
West Coast RCMP said in a news release Tuesday that officers on hand cordoned off the area and a police dog was deployed, but the suspects were not located. Forensic investigators also examined the scene and collected evidence.
"Police do not believe the public is in danger as this appears to be an isolated crime and there have been no other similar reports," the statement said.
