Daylight Saving Time is Over; Extra Sleep Time in British Columbia!
Starting this weekend, the clocks will go back an hour. That means an extra hour of sleep, but earlier sunsets and shorter days! 🌙
📅 On Sunday, November 2, the clocks will go back from 2 a.m. to 1 a.m., and sunset will be around 4:48 p.m. 🧥💡
🕯 Between December 8 and 14, we’ll experience the shortest days of the year; sunset will be around 4:13 p.m. and sunrise will be around 8 a.m. But after the winter solstice on December 21, the days will gradually get longer until the clocks go forward again on March 8, 2026. That’s just 19 weeks away! ☀️
🔄 The debate over permanent clocks in B.C.
People have been fed up with changing the clocks for years. Several Canadian provinces have been pushing for a permanent clock, with British Columbia showing the most public support for the move in 2019. But the change won’t happen until Washington, Oregon, and California follow suit. For now, we have to deal with this “Fall Back.”
