A driver has been arrested by police after crashing a car into the gates of Buckingham Palace in London.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud bang and then seeing a car crash into the gates of Buckingham Palace.
He arrested the police on the spot and the driver who was slightly injured.
The motive for the act is not yet clear, but the police are investigating.
The gates of Buckingham Palace are one of the most famous tourist attractions in London and the residence of Queen Elizabeth II.
The incident caused heavy traffic in the area and a road to Buckingham Palace was blocked for several hours.
No other injuries have been reported.
