According to reports, it happened around 9:45 Monday afternoon in the westbound lanes near Spadina Avenue.
Toronto police said several drivers called 911 to report a Volkswagen driver speeding through other cars.
The car overturned, slid about 160 feet onto its roof before hitting another car, police said. One person was also treated for serious injuries.
The westbound Gardiner Freeway was closed for several hours due to the crash, but has since reopened.
