Former Toronto mayor John Tory has rejoined the board of Rogers Communications

Former Toronto mayor John Tory is set to rejoin the board of Rogers Communications.

In the information circular of the Rogers company, which is set for the annual meeting on April 24, Torrey's name is listed among the 14 candidates proposed by the management. He previously served as a director of Rogers from 2010 to 2014 and from 1999 to 2003 as an executive director of Rogers Cable Company. And from 1995 to 1999, he was the executive director of Rogers Media.

Torrey's return to the Rogers board comes after sisters Melinda Rogers-Hickson and Martha Rogers settled their differences with their brother Edward Rogers and announced earlier this year that they were stepping down from the company's board.

Torrey is a member of the advisory committee of Rogers Control Trust, which controls the company's voting rights.

He resigned as mayor of Toronto in 2023 after admitting to having an affair with one of his employees.
