The rapper was sentenced to life in prison for two murders in British Columbia in a case involving a music confession.
Corinne Burrell, 29, pleaded guilty Thursday in British Columbia Superior Court to two counts of first-degree murder. He was convicted of murdering Danielle Locke, 24, in 2020 and Justin Van Kock, 28, in 2021.
Judge Marie Taylor said Burrell was "a serious danger to society" and "must be behind bars forever" because of his "brutal violence".
In his confession, Burrell said he killed Locke in 2020 due to a financial dispute. He said he killed Van Kok in 2021 because he witnessed Locke's murder.
Burrell confessed to the murders in a song called "I'm a Killer," prosecutors said. In this song, Burrell goes into detail about how he killed Locke and Van Kok.
Burrell's lawyers said he was mentally disturbed at the time of the murders. They wanted a sentence less than life imprisonment.
But Judge Taylor said the evidence showed Burrell was responsible for his actions at the time of the murders. Burrell was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
