Cougar alert issued in west Calgary after six dogs killed

After the incident of several domestic animals being killed by a cougar in the town of "Bragg Creek," residents are now paying more attention to the care of their pets. According to one of the residents, in the past three months, six dogs have been killed, with three of them being killed in the last week. Local authorities believe that all these attacks are the work of one injured cougar.
Following the attacks on four dogs in Bragg Creek and two dogs in Tsuu'tina, warning signs and alerts have been installed to inform the public. All of these attacks have occurred during the hours between dusk and dawn, which is when cougars typically hunt. It appears that if you must venture outside in the dark with your pets, it is advisable to leash them and carry a flashlight and bear spray.
